Last December 10th, I had the pleasure of presenting my ongoing research on the technical panel at the ‘Waves of Change: Nurturing Ocean Resilience & Chartering Sustainable Futures’ Conference at the Villa College, FSL, The Maldives.
In my paper, I examine the 2024 ITLOS Advisory Opinion on Climate Change to show how the tribunal has attempted to constrain state discretion in dealing with marine pollution and anthropogenic GHG emissions.
Moreover, I was particularly happy to share a panel with my dear colleague Rafael Prado (International Maritime Law Institute) and hear his ongoing research on Sea level change and Global Ocean Governance.
